Born Under the Sun, Built for Protection
Solebarr was created to solve a problem many women face: finding swimwear that offers both style and complete sun protection. Our founder's journey began on a surf retreat in Lombok, Indonesia, where the combination of exposed skin and the relentless sun left her and her fellow surfers with painful burns. Tired of constantly adjusting ill-fitting swimwear and frustrated by gaps that left her skin vulnerable, she set out to design something better: sun-protective swimwear that covers where it matters most.
Inspired by her own experiences — from a brief-cut surfsuit that couldn’t stay put to a boy-leg suit with a sun-exposed back — our founder embarked on a mission to create swimwear that offers confidence, comfort, and comprehensive sun protection. With over 15 years of experience in the clothing industry and a lifetime spent in the ocean, she’s intimately familiar with the importance of staying protected from the harsh sun. Having personally faced the risks of sun exposure, including a recent battle with skin cancer, she’s more determined than ever to offer women an alternative that keeps them stylishly safe under the sun.
